1. What's this site all about?
ArtGalleryHawaii.com
is dedicated to bringing quality original works of art from Hawaii
to the wired community of art lovers. We're the online branch of
the Gallery at Ward Centre, a charming gallery located on the Island
of Oahu. We would love to have you stop by and see us on your next
trip to Hawaii.
2. Are all the works originals?
The majority of our pieces are single creations of the artist's
vision. Some oil and watercolor paintings are available as limited
editions and are sold signed and numbered by the artist. Other items
are produced in a limited production.
You'll see these terms on our site:
Original: This is the only one created. What you see is
the unique artwork you'll receive when you purchase from our online
gallery.
Limited Edition: Typically these are giclee prints meticulously
reproduced from the original. These are printed on archival quality
paper with inks that have been certified to last 100 years. These
are only produced in a limited number. Each item in the edition
is identical and is an original work of art as it is signed and
numbered by the artist. When an edition is complete, the original
means of production are destroyed so additional items can not be
made.
Limited Production: These are fine art or craft items individually
created in small-scale production. Each is an original work that
is created to be as similar as possible to the piece shown on our
site. Slight differences make each work of art unique. Most of our
limited production items have already been created and are ready
for shipping.
3.
Can I afford it?
We offer a wide selection of beautiful art, with pieces that are
sure to fit your budget. Our prices cover a vast range, with the
majority of the priced between $100 and $2,000. We can also hold
a piece for you with a 25% partial payment, if you are interested
in this option please send us an e-mail.
See our Gift page for suggestions priced
at under $100.
4. Are the colors of the original the same as what I see on the
web?
We take extreme care to reproduce the artwork as accurately as
possible. All pieces are professionally photographed and colors
are digitally adjusted to match the original. There may be slight
variations in color monitors that are beyond our control. It is
also difficult to capture the depth and sparkle of some materials
such as glass, but be assured that if it looks good on the web,
it will look fabulous in your home or office!
5. What if I don't like it after I bought it?
At ArtGalleryHawaii.com you can buy art risk-free. If a purchase
does not meet your expectations, you may return it within five working
days of its receipt. Just use the original packing materials and
e-mail us for return instructions. We will pay for the return shipping.
You pay only for one-way shipping. We will refund the price of the
artwork to your charge card.
6. Is this a good investment?
We believe that our artists are destined for greatness. Their work
is in important public and private collections in both Hawaii and
beyond. The value of the artwork by many of our artists has already
appreciated during their careers. One only has to watch Antiques
Roadshow or attend a fine arts auction to be impressed with
the value that our society places on fine works of art and how they
can appreciate over the years.
7. Can I send the art as gifts?
A work of art makes an unforgettable gift. Browse through our various
mediums or visit our gifts
section for suggestions. Once you've found that perfect gift, purchasing
it online is a breeze. Attractive giftwrapping is available and
we'll be happy to include your personal message. And just to be
on the safe side, we check all deliveries to third parties by confirming
the order with the cardholder before shipping.
8. Can you frame it for me?
Some of our paintings are sold with frames and the framed view
of the piece will be shown on the detail page. Many others are sold
unframed. We would prefer that you take these pieces to a framer
in your neighborhood, where you can personally choose from a wide
variety of frames (you'll also save money on shipping).
9. You're in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, how's ordering and
delivery?
We want to make sure your shopping experience with us is easy and
pleasant. We ship artwork from the gallery in Honolulu using U.S.
Postal Service Priority Mail unless you specify otherwise. We will
send you a prompt e-mail confirmation of your order and we will
also e-mail the shipping code so that you can see exactly where
your artwork is during the delivery process. We ship within four
days business days and the USPS typically takes two to three days
to deliver to most parts of the U.S. from Hawaii. The shipping and
handling price to continental U.S. is indicated on the information
page of each artwork. There is an additional shipping charge for
international orders equal to the cost of U.S. shipping and handling.
This is calculated on the shopping basket page.
10. What about security? Is it safe to use my credit card number
online?
Our payment system is the one used by most every major e-commerce
site online. Hundreds of thousands of transactions take place every
month without a single infraction. It is safer to use your credit
card to order online than it is to use in a restaurant where you
have no control over who sees it.
If you're still uncomfortable about the process, you can always
place your order by calling our gallery during our Hawaii business
hours, 10 am to 9 pm weekdays and Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm Sunday.
The phone number is 808-597-8034. Go to our contacts
page to see what time it is in Hawaii.
11. What is your privacy policy?
Your privacy is very important to us. We will never share or trade
your personal information with another company.
